Phelps County Regional Medical Center Clinic LPN- General Surgery- Bond in Rolla, Missouri

Provides nursing care and treatments in medical office, as directed by Physician, by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned

Prepares patient for and assists with examinations.

Administers injections, medications, dresses wounds and incisions, interprets Physician's instructions to patients, assists with emergency and minor surgery, and performs related tasks as directed.

Maintains records of vital statistics and other pertinent data of patient.

Cleans and sterilizes instruments and equipment, and maintains stock of supplies and medications.

Records and develops electrocardiograms.

Inventory/purchase requests for medical supplies.

Maintains pharmaceutical samples.


Telephone triage for physician/perform patient phone calls as directed by physician.

Communicates with pharmacies regarding patient prescriptions under direction of physician.

Holter monitoring set up and maintenance.

Schedules patient testing/surgeries and appointments.

Arranges for insurance referrals, pre-authorizations, pre certifications for patients.


Stock/clean exam rooms.

If working in the ENT unit-report directly to the ENT Nursing Supervisor. Unit Supervisor will assign duties specific to ENT.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Successful completion of recognized practical nursing program. Prefer minimum one-year previous experience in medical office.


Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.


Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate drug dosages.


Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


Current licenser in Missouri as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
